Precious Moments – Storybook Bible
I have always been a big fan of the Precious Moments collections growing up and the Storybook Bible has held up to the standard I expect from Precious Moments. Filled with colorful and endearing Precious Moments characters and playful images that help bring the story of the Bible to life.
With color-coded sections that include: Presentation and Family Record Section; Favorite Bible Classics; Words of Praise and Wisdom; Stories of the Faith; Songs and Prayers. The color-coded sections make it easy to remember your place is in the book as we read it each evening. The Bible is a hard topic to follow and the Precious Moments Storybook Bible was a wonderful way to introduce the concept to my oldest.
The Storybook Bible is not a chronological depiction of the bible, but rather highlights some of the most pertinent parts relevant to children. Because of the stories not being chronological I did notice that it doesn’t flow exactly in the order from Old Testament to New Testament. I did not think this really faulted the book though because in my opinion it helped make it so that younger children can understand the concepts being presented.
My favorite section is the Song and Prayers section. This section truly brought back childhood memories of Sunday school and Summer Bible Camp. This section has a spot for your child to write their own nightly prayer, which is so powerful that they can put it in their own words.
