Motherhood in March

Whenever I am at the store or just running errands with my kids, when I am feeling flustered, tired and grouchy, someone without fail will pat me on my shoulder, give me a sympathetic smile and tell me I will miss them when they get older. I am thinking, why couldn’t that ‘missing them’ feeling be spread out among all the chaos? Like a mini vacation?.

Ahhh. My children, my life, I love them to pieces. I must outright admit I admire you stay at home moms! You are amazing and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, as they say it’s the toughest job you will ever love. I am not lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, but I think that is for a reason, I am not entirely sure I could sanely handle it. I must admit I sometimes look forward to work, adult conversation, organization (that I don’t have to create), and even quiet times. So again here is a salute to all you stay at home moms.

This month I have discovered that my 23 pound toddler can not ride the cat, in fact the cat can’t even move and will bite. We now know that riding your bike when snow/ice is on the ground can result in facial scraps, swelling, bruising and the emergency rooms. As of this month I know that my 3 year old can place himself in the ice bag freezer at Walmart without any help. And just in case you are wondering, a first grader threatening to “pinch a kids head off” while holding his fingers up so another kid’s head fits in between the thumb and forefinger can result in half a day of in house detention.

Share with us you children stories (I need to feel better!)

Ouch!! That's a tough month! I recently found out that giving my daughter a "leg up" on her pony with the same amount of oomph as helping her on a horse sends her sailing OVER the pony. This results in lots of attitude from the same daughter (although it was hilarious). She WILL get me back 🙂
My husband + my son + tractor = emergency room trip (ALWAYS)
My daughter thinks that I should be proud of the D she got in math because she brought it up 63 points since midterm.
My son thought it would be a good idea to light the gas grill with a match when he didn't see flames. This resulted in the need for a haircut and missing eyelashes (THANK GOODNESS that's all).
My daughter tells me she is not going to college, she's going to beauty school…but not to cut hair. Just to do makeup. All I think about is Frankie Avalon singing "Beauty School Dropout" in Grease
Never a dull moment, right 🙂

Too Funny… I have pics of my daughter balancing herself on a bounce horse then jumping off onto the couch… to which my hubby asked about me watching her do it : ) (you really have to see the pics) Thanks for stopping by and joining Thursdays Friends Cafe. I have been a follower for a while and look forward to your post!

I've learned that a whole container of dental floss, a 12 year old, and a public pool do not mix. And I'm still trying to figure out who in the heck is responable for the cinnamon toothpaste and the roll of toilet paper innocently sitting next to the toilet.

Oh no! I am a SAHM that is now getting that peace as they walk out the door every morning. Kids will be kids and just think how much you will laugh at all those antics a year or more down the road. Hang in there mama! 🙂

Thanks for linking up with us for the Thursday's Friends Cafe. Love that you joined us. I am now your newest follower. Happy Thursday! 🙂
