Almond is a go to scent for me and pretty much a must buy scent. I love anything to do with almond flavoring or scents and so when I saw that Dragonfly Soaps had Oatmeal Almond, I knew I had to have it.
Dragonfly Soaps takes pride in ensuring that their products are handmade, mild and gentle enough for anybodies skin, including their unscented line for babies. With five categories of soap including, Unscented, Earthy & Mysterious, Workhorse, Lavender & Flowers and my favorite Almost Edibles, they have a scent for every preference.
A little fact that I didn’t know was that I would spend 50 hours in the shower this year and wash my hands more than a thousand times. With knowing this I am sure to want a mild soap that won’t break out my skin (I am very sensitive) or my boys skin (sorry sweetbabies you got my skin). I can be sure with ingredients like oils from coconut, palm, wheat germ, cocoa butter, macadamia and shea butter that I won’t be worrying about the after affects. One of the particular flavors I chose was Tangerine and I was surprised to see that it was colored with tumeric and paprika. I would have never given much thought to this procedure before.
I liked that with the two flavors I chose they were not so overpowering. I can’t stand walking down the fragrance aisle at the big box stores because my senses get sent into overdrive and I generally end up with a headache. I have to be careful that while I love smelling lotions and perfumes the make-up counters in the mall are easily avoided by me. April and Amanda were able to chose their own scents as well and I must admit I am a tad jealous that Amanda beat me to the Lemon Chiffon. The Lemon Chiffon will most certainly be on my list of pampering myself. While the three of us were able to chose our own scents we all chose vastly different scents in my mind and as they were all intially shipped to me I got the perks of letting my nose test them all out. While the Lemon Chiffon and Oatmeal Almond are flavors that I love and are mild, for those wanting a stronger scent I would look towards the One Summer Night or Old Fashioned Lavender.
“Dragonfly Soaps natural soaps are hand made in small, careful batches in a woodsy soapmakers shop that borders Beltzville State Park, Pennsylvania – a place you may be familiar with if you’ve ever seen those romantic ads for honeymooning in the Pocono Mountain!” (Dragonfly Website). One of the nice things about knowing they are made in small batches and handmade; you know that a little piece of the soul goes into it. I strongly support handmade artists and would rather spend a little bit more to purchase something I know handled by a human and was given the personnel touches the product deserves.
A couple of facts about Dragonfly Soaps:
– All soaps are handcrafted in small batches.
– The colorings and scents are from herbs, clays, chlorophyll, spices, flowers, seeds, minerals, pigments or essential oils,
- Dragonfly Soaps uses oils that are made to nourish the skin.
- Lastly, they try to reuse and recycle when it comes to their packaging, soap trimmings, and any other areas that are possible.
