St. Patty’s Day Punch Recipe

St. Patrick’s Day is coming, which means you’re probably busy planning and shopping for the perfect party food and favors for the big day! While you’re checking off your drinks and desserts, put this punch recipe on your list: It’s a tasty beverage that doubles as a sweet treat, too. I’ve made this punch for plenty of parties in the past, and it’s definite a crowd-pleaser for all ages (and the perfect shade of green for your table spread!).

St. Patty’s Day Punch Ingredients:

1 can (12 ounces) limeade from concentrate, thawed

2 two-liter bottles of Sprite, chilled

2 quarts lime sherbet, softened

¼ cup lime juice

¼ cup sugar

Whipped cream

2 lemons, 2 limes

St. Patty’s Day Punch Directions:

  • In a large bowl or pitcher, combine the limeade, Sprite, sherbet, lime juice, and sugar. Leave a few scoops of sorbet for later (place the sorbet back in the freezer until ready to serve).
  •  Stir the mixture until well-blended and smooth. Chill the punch mixture.
  • Cut the lemons and limes into thin slices and float on top of the punch. Add the remaining frozen scoops of sorbet to the top of the punch, so that they float on the surface and act as “ice cubes.”
  • When serving to guests, ladle the punch into tall glasses. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and serve with a straw.

For those of you looking to spice up your punch for an older crowd, add rum for a delicious twist. J
