So I have a rant to make and I may be alone in this. I try not to use this blog for anything negative but I have to admit that I am really upset. As I sat down to watch t.v. with the hubs last night a commercial came on for ID gum. I am saddened that ID gum has chosen to make fun of our nation’s symbol. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I generally choose not to step on toes or make a scene but our nation’s symbol really? The symbol that represents what millions have died for? How is some idiot putting a wig on a bald eagle funny? Perhaps I am just missing something so I am going to host a giveaway for something that makes me happy. Free Sonic Burgers. Yeah, actually I’ve seen that commercial a million times. I never thought about it in that way before, but I can see where your coming from. As an American symbol, the bald eagle shouldn’t be defaced in any way, but I’m not sure if that is what I.D GUM originally intended. The idea made since, but maybe they should’ve rethought that one.

Hi I know what commercial you are talking about. I must say though I didn’t think of it the way you did. I thought of it like I’m sure it was intended. Bald Eagles with hair, thus making them not bald any more. It’s geared towards teenagers, and probably not funny to mature minds. I thought it was kind of stupid, and immature, but not offensive. Thank you for the comment. I have to admit I didn’t take the way it was intended. While I still don’t think it’s funny (I know it’s not meant for my age group) and still kind of repulsive I perhaps am not quite as upset with them. I do think the magnet closure is a neat idea. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
