Customizable Individual Cheesecakes In A Jar

I am totally in love with this new trend of dessert in jars. I mean really does it get much cuter?! I love the simple elegance they can add to any party or function. The personalization that can be added to each individual jar and the personal flavor choices that can be added. Plus they are REALLY REALLY cute.

Individual Cheesecakes in a jar are simple to make, easy to flavor, easy to make look beautiful and they have their own built in portion control. Let’s face it when it comes to cheesecake baked or no baked there really isn’t much stopping me from eating that whole creamy and delicious graham cracker filled crust.

As I scrounged around my house to make these delicious and tiny desserts I didn’t have any graham crackers on hand. What! I know how is that possible with two kids in the house? So Nilla wafers became the next best thing. Boy am I glad they did! They added that something different to the crust and kicked them up a notch for no-bake cheesecake.

With only 6 ingredients these little cheesecakes can be made before the big event or weekly nights dinner and stashed back for when you need them. Don’t let dessert be what is keeping you from enjoying your party.

The recipe below will fill 24 of the 125 ml canning jars (the short squatty ones). I used 1 heaping tablespoon of crust per a jar and then mashed it down into a flat crust with my espresso dampening tool.  I snagged mine from Amazon for less the $10.   The small side fits in the jar perfectly. I have heard of others using a wine cork as well. Anything to apply a little bit of pressure and get your crumbs packed in there good.

      Miz Helen-
Thank you for stopping by. I am in love with the new trend of desserts in jars. I have tons of them and it just really dresses up the dessert with little effort.

Hi again! Your recipes were right around my link at Tatertots and Jello I guess!

This is so right up my alley! I have a bunch of tiny jars that this would work perfect for! I’m actually in the midst of writing up a post about the jars and how I made cute labels for them. Your espresso tool looks perfect, but since I don’t have one I’ll have to find something similar.

Anyways, thanks for the recipe, I’m pinning it right now!

I would love to hear what you find to use in place of the espresso tool. I am asked by others and not positive what to tell them. I have heard of others using a wine cork. I did pick up my espresso tool off of Amazon for those that are looking.

  • I bought a bunch of mason jars for the express purpose of using them for things like this. Thanks for the recipe. : ) I think I will like the nilla wafer better too.

I love the nilla wafers as a crust. City Market has some lemon wafers as well that are delicious and really mix up the crust flavor.

  • What a fun and cute idea! 🙂 I could eat like five of those. haha

I wish I could say they have their own portion control built in, but they don’t have will power built in. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by Kelly!

Oh yum – so much more fun than typical cake-style cheesecake. This seems like an easy enough recipe for me.

Love!!! Individual desserts are so cute, and in head less calories 🙂 That is not proven, but I’m going with it!

      Laura-
I agree with less calories because it makes me only eat one. If I dish it out of the pan my cutting size is usually a lot bigger, at least that is what I am telling myself.
