Strawberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bars

Strawberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bars WM

Somethings are just meant to go together like peanut butter and jelly, Mork and Mindy (who remember that show), strawberries and cream cheese. Yes they are meant to go together in the a soft and subtly sweet kind of way. It’s really hard to ruin this combination.

Strawberry cheesecakes are the perfect dessert for a get together, especially when your looking for something to show a lot of class like these individualized cheesecakes. However, sometimes you need something a little more, something to feed a hungry crowd. Take Easter at my house for example, or any real holiday actually. This consists of 50+ people shuffling through the door and picking at everything available.

The main course usually consists of two 8 foot tables at a minimum and the dessert table isn’t far behind. Not something that individual cheesecakes are conducive for. Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies perhaps but they tend to leave red mouths on little ones so maybe not perfect for Easter dinner.

This year as I was experimenting as to what to take I mashed together the can’t go wrong pair of strawberries and cream cheese. Paired with those new seamless crescent rolls (it’s about time for those!) and a winning combo is born. I did stray from my normal filling because I was going to have to bake these anyway, but that doesn’t mean any more work and still all the deliciousness!

This holiday if your looking for something easy and pleasing for a crowd Strawberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bars will come to your rescue!

The Cast Of Strawberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bars

2 8 oz package sof seamless crescent rolls (you can use the regular and just patch them together to make a crust)
2 8 oz packages of cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup strawberry preserves (I used strawberry ice cream topping)
1/2 cup butter (melted)

Directions For Strawberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bars

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

2. Spray a cookie sheet with Pam.

3. Layer one package of crescent rolls onto the bottom of your cookie sheet. Do not bake.

4. In a mixing bowl combine cream cheese, white sugar, egg and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.

5. Layer your cream cheese mixture over the top of your your crescent roll that is on your cookie sheet. Then layer your strawberry preserves on top of of your cream cheese mixture. Lastly, top with your last package of crescent rolls. This gets a bit tricky but do your best.

6. Pour melted butter over the top of layers. Make sure the butter doesn’t “pool” in any areas because this makes it tougher to get it golden brown. Not a deal breaker for me but just something to watch for.

7. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Use the knife test like you would with cakes to make sure that bottom layer is baked.

8. Let stand for 10 minutes to set up and serve. Can be served warm or cold. Keep leftovers refrigerated because of the cream cheese mixture.

They are delicious, especially served just a tad bit warm still. I made some chocolate ones as well that were good but definitely prefer the strawberry. Enjoy!

  • Yes, I remember Mork and Mink! And remember Tom Hanks…I forget the name of the show. Feeling my age.

I forgot to add that Trifle’s are delicious. I don’t think I have made it with Angel food cake though. My husband is addicted to chocolate so that is his favorite flavor. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Mork & Mindy was a great show! Admittedly I only watched it in syndication as a little girl when it was on Nick & Nite.

I truly love this recipe. Very inventive use of crescent rolls!

This looks wonderful. I can’t remember the last time I used crescent roll dough for rolls. But it sure is versatile.

We are having a party at Tumbleweed Contessa with Hammock Tracks (Savannah) and Call Me PMC (Paula). Iโ€™d love it if you could bring this over.

The party goes live on Saturday morning โ€“ Saturday Dishes โ€“ featuring strawberries this week. http://www.tumbleweedcontessa.com/blog

Hope to see you there with this.
