Kid’s Checklist For Packing Printables ~ Let The Kids Pack Their Own Suitcase

Kid’s Checklist For Packing Printables

It’s official.  It’s traveling season and that means a lot of bag packing in my house.  It’s the first of May and I already have planned 8 traveling trips with the boys before August.  That is a lot of packing for the three of us.  It has gotten easier as they can both do their own packing these days but it still requires that I stand over their suitcase and tell them how many of each item they need.  With these Kid’s Packing List Free Printables I can write how many of each item the boys need to pack and they can pack their own bag.  They leave the flap open so that I can confirm they have the correct amounts but I don’t have to hover over them.  I can pack my suitcase while they are packing theirs.  It’s a great time saver, teaches them independence and frankly packing accordingly is a life long skill.

Enjoy these Kid’s Packing List Free Printables , I suggest laminating them to be used multiple times.  We leave the laminated sheets in our Family Command Center and then they are ready to go for the next round.  After I have the quantities of items recorded on the sheet I will hang with the chore charts so they know they are ready.

Thanks!! I will be printing this off for our upcoming vacation. (I noticed there is another one out there that has different colors. Looks like they took yours, changed the colors and took your name off and replaced theirs. Just thought id give you a heads up. )

Thank you for the adorable and useful packing list! This really motivated my son to help get ready for his week-long trip! We made a list of additional items and will create our ‘add-on’ to use with your summer boys packing list.
    Great idea, thank you!

This is soo adorable!! I am going to show it to my kids so they can help pack their own bags for our roadtrip!

I think my kids have packed enough that they usually remember everything they need but this is good for the first few times at least, or even as a checklist just to make sure nothing is forgotten.

I’m a terrible control freak when it comes to packing but yes, I think I need to let loose the reigns and allow the kids to take over. This list is super cute and covers it all!

I love the list! Lately I’ve been letting them pack their own bags, but geez it makes me nervous. Your checklist sorta makes it fun for them, which is pretty cool.

  9. 18

What a great idea, I pinned it under my travel board.

  10. 17

I need this printable for us when we travel. I’m always forgetting something LOL Thanks for the printable.

  11. 16

What a smart idea to have a packing list for them and to make them more responsible for what they need!

  12. 15

Oh those printables are so awesome! I love the little pictures that go with each item! It would really help the kids pack by themselves!

  13. 14

What a great idea!!! It’s nice to have lists otherwise we always forget something.

It has been a lifesaver for us! They can pack themselves and I can work on other important aspects for the trip.

D’oh! Why didn’t I think of that?! We’ve been letting the kids pack their suitcases for a few years but we’ve always just sat down with them and let them write out everything they could think of (x # of outfits, x # of underclothes, toiletries, etc) all in detailed form by actually writing out each item from those categories. Then they would check them off as they packed them. Never thought of a visual checklist like this!

Seriously that is adorable. I need to print this off for my girls since we are going on a trip at the end of the week

How fun.. I love this. We are going on a big trip in 3 weeks and I really think my daughter would get a kick out of me handing this list to her. Thanks for sharing, this is too cute and soo helpful

I let them pack themselves, but I always did a final check! It would be too risky not to check it all over.

I still do a quick check but now I don’t have to hover while they pack. It’s been a huge time saver for me.

  19. 8

Those are terrific for folks with young kids! my daughter is older now and packs her own.

  20. 7

I pack the suitcase for my youngest on the rare occasions we go away. It’s quicker and far simpler.

It took a lot for me to let go of the control but it’s been a huge time saver for me. I still do a quick check of their bag to make sure they have everything.

  23. 4

These are really adorable and useful! My little one would love to help and pack her own suitcase… I’m printing and using these for our next trip.

This is awesome. My son is going to like using this. He wants to help and with a checklist like this, he totally could!

  25. 2

I love the pictures and the words together on this list. This would be super simple to even get the non-readers involvled in their own packing.

      Brandy says:

It’s been a huge time saver for us Michele. My youngest can pack his own bag with the pictures and my oldest can read what he needs.

  26. 1

That is super handy. I never let the kids pack themselves when they were younger because I was afraid they’d forget something.

      Brandy says:

It took a lot for me to give up the control of packing them but this has been a huge time saver for me. I give their bags a quick once over before we leave to make sure nothing has been forgotten.
