Music to My Ears: Appalachian Christmas CD Review

My opinions are my own, I was compensated for this post with a free copy of Appalachian Christmas.

If you happened to come across my husband and I on the streets, you would never guess we’re the musical type. I played clarinet for 8 years in high school and my husband still plays viola to the kids while they are taking a bath. We sing while we’re in the car and while we’re taking a shower, but we aren’t the people who stand up on Sunday mornings and lead the congregation in music. One of the ways my husband gets the kids to calm down when he’s watching them is by playing Christian music for them.

Recently we were able to try out a new CD called Appalachian Christmas and my kids loved it! Okay, not only did they love it, but the adults of the household fell in love as well. Do you know why we loved it so much? It is a family friendly musical CD the whole family can listen to. We don’t need to shut it off when the kids are around. I also think it’s going to be the perfect addition to our Christmas season at the Weaver household.

Truthfully, Appalachian Christmas has brought my family together for the short period of time we’ve owned the CD. If you are looking for a CD that will sooth your soul, then this is for you!

My favorite song by far is Oh Holy Night. But that being said, I love it all and can’t WAIT to start playing it all the time.

I like a blend of the traditional and modern. My favorite song is White Christmas.

That depends. I love Baby, It’s Cold Outside by both Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Jordan and the version by Sammy Davis, Jr./Carmen McRae, but I enjoy Christmas songs by my favorite modern artists too.

We actually celebrate Hanukkah so no christmas songs here. But my favorite Hanukkah song would be Hanukkah, come light the menorah.

I prefer traditional Christmas music but there is also a Looney Toons Christmas CD my kids had when they were little (I have it now) that I love lol, and I love classical Christmas music!

That is my favorite song as well Marsha! It is so rarely played so I had to buy it last year on iTunes so I could hear it.
