Eco-Friendly Ways to Pack a Lunch

“This post about Eco-Friendly Ways to Pack a Lunch is sponsored by Dasani & The Coca-ColaCompany.”

I realize this post makes me sound like an earth nut and maybe I am becoming one. This year, I’ve been more focused on packing my kids healthier lunch options, but also environmentally friendly lunch options. Check out these eco-friendly ways to pack a lunch.

Eco-Friendly Ways to Pack a Lunch

Use a Bento Box

One thing I’ve started using this year is a Bento box. This helps keep the amount of plastic baggies I use in their lunches to a minimum. When I was using plastic baggies, they were going straight into the trash, which didn’t help the environment at all.

Think Reusable

One way I make my kids’ lunches more eco-friendly is by using reusable items. I can head to the dollar store and buy a ton of reusable items. If we use plastic utensils, we don’t throw them away. We wash and reuse when we can!

Dasani’s Green Bottle Cap Water Bottles

I love that Dasani is changing the way it does things. They have a new water bottle on the market and it is in alignment with our new way of packing lunches. Dasani’s green-capped bottles are plant-based, composed of 30% plant materials, and are very environmentally friendly. Plantbottle means that the water bottles are made from plants. This is the first ever recyclable water bottle of its kind made out of plant based materials.

If you would like to know more about Dasani’s green-capped bottles, you can find all sorts of cool resources right on their website. Dasani is taking great efforts to reduce its impact on the planet. They’ve also taken great efforts to reduce the weight of its bottles, less plastic means less pollution on the planet. Since 2001, Dasani has used 45% less plastic than their original packaging.

Since I try very hard to stay on my Paleo diet, I pack a lunch when and where ever I go. Dasani is one water I will drink. I freeze it a lot of times and use it in my cooler to keep foods cold.
