Food For A Crowd On A Budget

Having people over to my house is one of my most favorite thing. I LOVE to feed a large crowd and there is no doubt about that. However, one downside to feeding a lot of people is the cost associated with it. Check out these food for a crowd on a budget tips.

Food For A Crowd On A Budget

Buy Meat in Bulk

A lifesaver for feeding a large crowd is to buy your meat in bulk. Hamburger, hotdogs, and chicken can all be purchased in large quantities. I love buying meat like this because you can stick it in the freezer. You can break it into chunks and only pull out what you need, super nice!

Skip the Extras

Something that I have learned about a large crowd is that the main dish is what matters. It needs to be filling, so you don’t need a ton of extras. Now I focus on my main dish and offer 1-2 sides. I may offer fruits, veggies, or chips, but I don’t go crazy trying to get a dozen sides prepared. I have found that sides are sometimes way more expensive than the main dish itself.

Ask Others to Pitch In

Another thing I learned a long time ago is to ask for help from others. Not in a weird clingy way, but in a way that they will want to help. Throwing a party and trying to feed a big crowd is expensive and others know that. Instead of burdening one family with the cost, it’s nice to ask for help and split everything up. You’ll be surprised as to how many people are willing to pitch in and help.

Go for the $5 Pizzas

Sometimes you don’t have the time or energy to want to feed a large crowd of people, but it still needs done. There have been times that I just threw my hands in the air and went with the $5 pizzas. I saved my sanity on those days.  Remember that some days you just can’t do it all and that’s more than okay!

Buy in Bulk

I’m a huge fan of buying in bulk when I know it’s things I’ll use.  It’s amazing what you can get at Costco or Sam’s Club when planning to feed a crowd! I like to buy my “feed a lot of people” party items at these bulk stores. It makes my life, so much easier.

There you have it! Several ways to feed a crowd on a budget. To recap, buy in bulk, keep it simple, and ask for help!
