Gardening With Kids & What They Learn

When it comes to gardening with kids though, what your kid learns from this simple family activity far surpasses what you could instill within them with any other activity. - Farmer's Wife Rambles

Kids are curious and enjoy learning new things; they are like a sponge ready to soak up all that you have to teach them. When it comes to gardening with kids though, what your kid learns from this simple family activity far surpasses what you could instill within them with any other activity. Gardening with kids can be done as a family unit when your kid is super young and develop into an independent task as they get older. Starting your child off on the path of growing their own food teaches … [Read more...]

The Bouqs Makes Floral Delivery Easy

The Bouqs Floral Delivery

This post on The Bouqs Makes Floral Deliver Easy is brought to you by my partnership with The Bouqs.  I was supplied a dozen roses in order to facilitate my review. Fresh flowers?  What are those?  Delivered to my door?  That will never happen! Until now...  Living 25 miles from the nearest florist you can guarantee that my husband doesn't have it set up on auto delivery.  Even less likely is that while the flowers I do receive (rarely) are gorgeous they … [Read more...]

Planting Season Is Officially Here

Planting Season Is Officially Here ~ 2014 Planting season has officially started and boy does life change around here when it does.  Cory’s hours get significantly longer and I must adapt my schedule as well.  During the winter I become accustomed to being able to plan what I need and Cory is very good about keeping the boys.  However, plans change drastically for the months of April through October.  I have to be a bit more selective in my own plans or be willing to have two kids in … [Read more...]

Phone Dump Friday – Colorado Potato Harvest 2013

Potato Harvest 2013

Welcome to Phone Dump Friday.  I will be "dumping" my phone each Friday (or so I hope!) to give you a closer look into my crazy life with my two boys. Guess I am a little behind on my Phone Dump Fridays but September is always a tad busy with harvest.  We are finished with our harvest for the year!!  I can't tell you how happy that truly makes me.  Grain is under cover either at the Coors elevator and potatoes are stashed in the warehouse, this means all of our crop is about 90% safe.  I … [Read more...]

How to Introduce People With Excellent Etiquette

introducing with excellent etiquette

Having excellent etiquette seems to sometimes be like a thing of the past. My husband was taught proper etiquette from birth I think and it's been amazing to watch him in is business and to see how he is respected with his business associates. Cory can be a little rough around the edges but he was taught good etiquette including how to introduce people properly and how to give a proper handshake. These two things tell a lot about a person! The first time someone meets another person is … [Read more...]

Phone Dump Friday – The West Fork Fire June 2013

West Fork Fire June 2013

Welcome to Phone Dump Friday.  I will be "dumping" my phone each Friday (or so I hope!) to give you a closer look into my crazy life with my two boys. This month has been a rough one for fires on the Colorado frontier.  Every night as I watch the news I wonder if there is going to be much left of the Colorado forest by the time winter comes.  The West Fork Fire was started by lightening and is quickly taking over the forest near me, a forest that I spent last weekend 4-wheeling in. The … [Read more...]

Seeing The Good In Everything With Good Life From Allstate

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Looking at the news today it is sometimes hard to comprehend all the bad in the world today, the things we do to each other.  As an optimist by nature it truly is hard for me to watch the news and almost makes me depressed sometimes, for instance the latest story of Luke Turner, a 3 year old boy who was kidnapped by his father.  As I watch the interviews and hear his mother tell the … [Read more...]

Barley Crop May 2013

Welcome to Phone Dump Friday.  I will be "dumping" my phone each Friday (or so I hope!) to give you a closer look into my crazy life with my two boys. Planting season is officially over.  The barley is in the ground and as you can see below is peeking out of the dirt.  The fields look really good so far this year.  We did have to re-drill one half circle thanks to the wind, yet I believe that has been done every year since I have known Cory.  Hopefully that phase is over … [Read more...]

Phone Dump Friday – Camping In Moab, UT

Exploring In Moab

Welcome to Phone Dump Friday.  I will be "dumping" my phone each Friday (or so I hope!) to give you a closer look into my crazy life with my two boys. Camping In Moab, UT My parents head out to Moab, UT every year for the big car show that takes place in April.  It just so happens to be their anniversary weekend most years so it has become somewhat of a tradition.  This year the boys and I were invited along for a fun day at the car show and a day of four-wheeling.  I was … [Read more...]

5 Of My Must Have Songs

5 Must Have Songs Button

Music has always been a large part of my life. We spent a lot of time camping, fishing and time in the mountains. We didn't own Walkman's or Discman's so we had to do our own singing and my mother had a great voice and songs that really bring me back. If we weren't in the mountains as a family we could often be found at my grandparents who have a jukebox in the basement filled with songs. Songs that most wouldn't be caught dead listening to now, but for me they bring memories rushing back. … [Read more...]

Welcome to Phone Dump Friday.  I will be "dumping" my phone each Friday (or so I hope!) to give you a closer look into my crazy life with my two boys. Proper Hand Washing Basics With Kids

Carmex Healing Lotion

Spring time is clearly here in Colorado; the grass is showing green, the wind is starting to blow and my kids have the sniffles.  That's right sniffles are not just for winter and it almost seems that they get worse when Spring time hits.  The germs come out of hibernation I swear. We have been spending a lot of time going over hand washing basics to keep the sniffles as far from our house as possible.  It's only half working but any little bit helps.  I really hope the deep cleaning that … [Read more...]

Mommy Guilt Wins

coulter sleeping in car

Wow as mom's (and dad's) we all have guilt about our kids.  I mean I don't care about what the other kids are wearing not I do freak out that my kid doesn't have his own iPad at almost 5 but I do feel guilty when I get upset with my kids, when I am the reason for that happening. It's been a crazy week in our house and my 4 year old still needs naps most everyday.  Long naps or the sweet kind-hearted little boy disappears and some monster who I don't know comes out.  I know I am not alone … [Read more...]
