The Boy Who Changed the World by Andy Andrews review

The Boy Who Changed The World by Andy Andrews
From the back of the book:
Everything You DO Matters.
The Boy Who Changed the World reveals the incredible truth that everything YOU do matters-what you did yesterday, what you do today, and what you will do tomorrow.  Every choice you make, good or bad, can make a difference.  In this engaging tale, best-selling author Andy Andrews shows children that every action, however big or small, can have a ripple effect around the world.
My Take
The concept behind this book was great.  I know it’s not the first one that has been written about changing the world, but it’s the first one I have seen about a change affect about how it was George who changed the world, nope it was Norman, or actually it was Henry, and so on.  It was an interesting way to show how everything we do really does change the world, even if we don’t know what we are doing.  Henry didn’t know that liking plants at such a young age would help him grow up to become the Secretary of Agriculture.
The Boy Who Changed The World is about how to help cure world hunger and the steps taken by many people to work on it.  I am sure that we all wouldn’t mind this really happening and I hope that these steps really do work in the near future.  I like that it shows my son that he is never to young to help, no matter the cause.  As a single person in this book they are trying to make a difference and in the end the chain that links them together of having the same cause will be what makes them successful.
The illustrations are perfect as well.  They are done in vibrant colors and really went well with the book.  Maybe not exactly what I would have pictured in my head but that’s the joy of imagination.  Illustrations like this will be what is setting my son up to learn how to use his imagination and that makes this book a keeper in my house.
