Family Vacation Idea by Kristl Story

Here’s a vacation idea that will fit any budget and remind your children that money really does not grow on trees!

#1. Let each member of the family plan a day of the vacation…from breakfast to activities to lodging!
#2. The only rules are that you set the daily budget and the distance parameters.  This idea would also work well for a staycation.
Our family recently “road tested” this idea, and here’s how our vacation shaped up:
Day 1: (planned by me!) San Antonio River Walk, dinner at MiTiera
Day 2: (planned by my 11 year old daughter) Sea World San Antonio
Day 3: (planned by my husband and my 15 year old son) Golf
Day 4: (planned by my 17 year old son) Hiking at Lost Maples State Park
The entire family loved “planning” the vacation, we stuck to our budget & we’ll do it again soon!
