Directions:

- Take the white piece of paper and fold it in half so that the short sides touch (hamburger not hot dog).
- Fold this in half again, short side to short side and then re-open once.
- On the line in the middle of the paper, measure in a half inch from the folded side and make a dot, then go 1 1/2 inches and make another dot.
- Between these dots draw a football shaped curve above and below the line to make the eye hole.
- Think about what you want to be. Are you a butterfly? Zorro? A mouse or a dog? Carefully draw the outline of half your mask making sure that you start on the folded side.
- Below the folded line make sure that you start on the folded side and curve downward a little at first to make a space for your nose and then continue in whatever shape you like.
- Keeping the paper folded cut out your mask. Ask an adult to help you poke a hole in the eye opening before you begin cutting.
- Unfold your paper mask and lay it over the poster board. Use a glue stick or white glue brushed out thin to secure the paper to the poster board.
- Carefully cut out the mask. Ask an adult to help with the eye holes.
- Using a glue stick, white glue or glue gun: cover the surface of your mask completely with decorations.
- Cover the mask with a thin layer of white glue or mog podge to seal it. Allow time to dry before attaching strap or stick.
- If using the stick, staple one side of the mask to the stick. If not follow instructions 13-14 for strap.
- Placing the mask over your face, ask an adult to measure the elastic for you. Make sure you allow and extra inch of elastic for attaching to the sides.

Tie a knot in the end and staple one side of the elastic to the mask. Hold the mask to your face for fitting. Have an adult tie and staple the other side so that it is tight enough to stay in place.
