I am totally in love with this new trend of dessert in jars. I mean really does it get much cuter?! I love the simple elegance they can add to any party or function. The personalization that can be added to each individual jar and the personal flavor choices that can be added. Plus they are REALLY REALLY cute.
Individual Cheesecakes in a jar are simple to make, easy to flavor, easy to make look beautiful and they have their own built in portion control. Let’s face it when it comes to cheesecake baked or no baked there really isn’t much stopping me from eating that whole creamy and delicious graham cracker filled crust.
As I scrounged around my house to make these delicious and tiny desserts I didn’t have any graham crackers on hand. What! I know how is that possible with two kids in the house? So Nilla wafers became the next best thing. Boy am I glad they did! They added that something different to the crust and kicked them up a notch for no-bake cheesecake.
With only 6 ingredients these little cheesecakes can be made before the big event or weekly nights dinner and stashed back for when you need them. Don’t let dessert be what is keeping you from enjoying your party.
The recipe below will fill 24 of the 125 ml canning jars (the short squatty ones). I used 1 heaping tablespoon of crust per a jar and then mashed it down into a flat crust with my espresso dampening tool. I snagged mine from Amazon for less the $10. The small side fits in the jar perfectly. I have heard of others using a wine cork as well. Anything to apply a little bit of pressure and get your crumbs packed in there good.
Build Your Individual Cheesecakes In Jar
Cast Of Nilla Wafer Crust
1 11 oz box of Nilla Wafer Cookies
1/2 Cup Sugar
6 Tablespoons Butter (melted)
Directions To Make Nilla Wafer Crust
1. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. Crush Nilla wafer cookies in a food processor or by hand just like graham crackers.
3. Mix crushed cookies, sugar and melted butter together.
4. Bake your jars crust filled jars for 7 minutes.
Cast Of Cream Cheese Mix
2 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
2/3 cup lemon juice
2 14 oz cans of sweetened condensed milk (or make your own)
Directions For Cream Cheese Mix
1. Mix softened cream cheese, lemon juice and sweetened condensed milk together.
2. Fill your jars with 2 1/2 tablespoons of cream cheese filling and refrigerate before topping your cheesecakes.
Finish Your Individual Cheesecakes In A Jar
To finish individual cheesecakes top them with your desired toppings. Cherry cheesecake, mini chocolate chips, hershey kisses, strawberries and even apple pie filling. Any flavor of cheesecake you desire is a possibility. Heck you even have 24 of them at your disposal now, go for 24 different flavors
