It has been several years since I hosted my first Thanksgiving, but I remember what a nervous wreck I was. Those first few years, you’re still trying to impress your in-laws and you want everything to be perfect. Fast forward a few years and I’ve learned a few things. Here are some of my best tips for when it comes time to host your first Thanksgiving.
Relax (You’ll Get More Done)
I have learned that over the years I get a lot more done by relaxing and not getting overworked about hosting Thanksgiving. If I take a deep breath, I get so much more done.
Pick a Menu That is Easy
When it comes to hosting your first Thanksgiving, pick a menu that is super simple. You don’t want to be cooking for a week straight just to feed your family for the holidays. Picking a simple menu helps you keep your sanity and makes the day go a lot smoother for you.
Ask for Help
Keep in mind that just because you’re hosting, it doesn’t mean you literally have to make every single thing. Don’t be shy about asking others to bring something along as well. This will literally save the day and make your day easy, compared to doing everything yourself.
Shop at Sam’s Club
I’ve always used Sam’s Club® as my go-to for everything during the holidays. When you’re hosting such a big holiday, it’s nice to get everything you need all in one spot. I can get everything from quality meat to quality produce. Sam’s Club® also offers top of the line organics too. Whenever I shop at Sam’s Club® I always feel as though I get great value and quality.
Throwing your first Thanksgiving party doesn’t have to be a bust. Follow these tips to make it super easy and you’ll have fun making lasting memories.
