Meet Etsy Owner Allie from Wine DeLights

Meet Etsy Owner Allie

Where are you from and tell us a little about yourself?
I come from a small city in CA, called Whittier. While driving around town, I usually see at least one person I know. Besides making my crafts, I usually am out and about trying to make the best of every day. I really enjoy spending time in the local hills, hiking when I get the chance to. I also enjoy heading down to the beach during the evenings. I spend a lot of time with my cats, Tommy and Tawny. They are my furry children. I also love spending quality time with the family and spending time with my friends. I tend to be very quiet and shy when you first meet me, but I open up pretty fast. I am a vegetarian and have a very compassionate heart towards all animals. Some of my hobbies include reading (I love a good book! If you have any recommendations, let me know), working on my Wine Lanterns, gardening, hiking and just enjoying life. I am only 24 years old, but I have an old soul. I prefer listening to Oldies and classic rock over anything popular today.

Why did you start your Etsy shop?
My friends and my family really pushed me into opening up an Etsy shop. They saw my Wine Lanterns and thought that I should try to sell them on Etsy. I was hesitant at first, but gave in. I don’t regret it at all. Even though I am fairly new, I have met a lot of great Etsy-ers and have had a great experience.

How did you come up with your Etsy shop name?
Well, I initially wanted to call my shop, Wine Lights, but then I thought it sounded boring and dull, so I jazzed it up a little by calling it Wine DeLights. I think it has a nice ring to it.

What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I personally like the Czar’s Gold Vodka bottle lantern. I like it so much because it is one of a kind. I don’t have any more of those bottles.

Do any of your pieces have a memorable story behind them?
A few of the wine bottles that I used have some pretty good times attached to them. I was never really a huge wine drinker, but my craft kind of rubbed off on my Wino side.

What was your first piece you sold?
The first piece that I sold was a lovely green wine bottle lantern with brown beads. I just looked back at that item and saw how horrible the picture was. EEKKK!

Where do you get your inspiration for your pieces?
The pure beauty of a wine bottle is where most of the inspiration for my pieces comes from. I love how the light shines though them. It just creates a wonderful, romantic ambiance.

Do you have plans for expansion?
I would love to start selling my wine lanterns at local fairs and farmer markets. I would also like to grow on Etsy. That would be a dream come true!

Anything else you would like us to know?
I really couldn’t be happier creating my little crafts. Hopefully the love and time I spend creating them shines through, and I hope you enjoy them as well!

Apart from creating beautiful pieces, what else do you do?
I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes! It is quite exciting. I also just got a job as an Assistant Preschool Teacher which I am super excited for! Other than that, I just like to take one day at a time and fill each day with love and kindness. Sounds cheesy, but it’s true.

**Please take a moment to visit Allies shop.  If you comeback here and leave a comment with your favorite item you can have a total of five extra entries to leave on any or a combination of my current giveaways.  This offer ends on  6/18 at midnight.
