There’s nothing more fun than a play date with friends. The only issue is trying to find something fun, entertaining, and educational. Sure, going to the park is fun for the kiddos, but it does get old after a while. It’s time to step out of the ordinary when it comes to play dates and do something incredible.
For me, play dates help me to keep my sanity. Sometimes the kids get a little restless at home. Getting out and having fun or having friends over, always seems to do the trick! There are several play day ideas that work. Choose the ones that work best for your family. The perfect playdate is just a few steps away!
#1. Water Parks
Have you ever considered having a play date at a local water park? There are many hotels that have water parks within the hotels to help attract families. If you’re looking for an incredible play date idea then look up one of these water parks in your town, and don’t forget to check for a coupon.
You can also make your own water park at home. Gone are the days you HAVE to go to a water park. You can buy cheap outdoor water stuff and create your own amazing water park.
#2. DIY Bakery
Invite your friend over for a DIY bakery day. I love this idea for boys and girls because it’s hard to say no to chocolate. The moms can pre-bake the cupcakes and the kids can spend a few minutes decorating.
Of course, you can also theme the DIY bakery day around upcoming holidays. When you do this stuff with your kids, when they’re little, they grow up loving to bake! It’s quite amazing to watch.
#3. Rock Climbing
If the kiddos are old enough, then consider rock climbing as one of the incredible play date ideas for you to try. There are different levels of rock climbing available, even if your child is a beginner, they can still have fun. Bring along a picnic and have a little homemade lunch after your incredible rock climbing adventure.
#4. Children’s Museum
Who says that play dates can’t be out of the ordinary? Heading to a children’s museum is a great way to spend your play date with a friend. I love the idea of this because you can turn it into something quite educational.
#5. The Zoo!
Who loves the zoo? I know we do! I actually like to take my kids to different zoos. We’ll go to zoos that are close to our house and zoos that are far away. It’s just a fun play date idea, even if it only involves your own kids.
#6. Put Together an Obstacle Course
If you have busy little ones, then perhaps an obstacle course is just what you need in your life. An obstacle course can be done in the basement or outside, so no matter what you can have something fun for the kids to do.
I think I like the idea of an obstacle course because you can also adjust it to the age of the play date. Older kids can even help you put it together.
I hope some of these play date ideas help you to keep your kids busy. There is nothing better than being able to sit back and chat with a friend, while the kids play!
