Let’s take a walk down memory lane for a few minutes. Last week I posted a giveaway and the entry was to tell me your favorite childhood toy. As I was reading the answers it brought back so many memories of my own toys. Barbies, Micro Machines, doll houses, Rainbow Bright, Teddy Ruxben and a personal favorite The Poppols. The Poppuls were the ultimate cool stuffed animal. Tiny hedgehog type thing that you turned inside out. It had tail with a bobble on the end. I loved these animals and April and I had our share. Amanda even had to sew the tail back on for me…in Highschool.
Our children these days have some of the same toys but let’s face it they just aren’t as cool. They have been made to adjust with the times and have 
lost some of the nostalgia for me. So that means I have to be partial to new toys. With two boys stuffed animals are not high on the list for them. However, every once in awhile you run across one that is made for boys and can have a cool story behind it. Monster Factory is bringing cool to boys stuffed toys. No frills needed for these cool guys and top it off with a great story of how the monster is the protector of the tractors (remember farm boys here), Captain Freedom quickly became the toy that you don’t want to leave at grandma’s house accidentally. After all, Captain Freedom (Vincent) has a lot of tractors to protect and I must say it has helped slightly in getting Coulter to pick up his toys, at least the tractors all to one spot.
Monster Factory offers a variety of “monsters” (over 30) that you can search according to their picture or their name. I love that I don’t have to worry about small parts falling off the monsters as they are made entirely of stuffed fleece. This also helps when Vincent becomes the savior of toys from Corbin the hit isn’t going to hurt to bad. Also, because there are no small parts Corbin can drag this monster around and no little plastic eyes falling off. One more plus is it’s entirely machine washable. For all those moms that know how gross that lovey gets you can rest assured that germs can be washed away.
Studio Edition monsters are made in limited runs at the Monster Factory’s Toronto location and sales are promoted when a new monster makes it’s debut. This week is Veronica for 25% off…next week time will only tell.
