My Thoughts
This is the first of Cara Lynn James’s books that I have read but it won’t be my last. I am in love with the way James can convey what she is wanting and keep an audience captivated. I was drawn in from the cover alone and knew that it was going to be an easy book to fall in love with.
Katherine starts off as a very powerful woman running an orange grove but throughout the novel she never really did stand up to her parents which is a bit different than most historical romance books I have read. I still loved the book but did find this a bit different from this genre.
Would I read the book again? Possibly but I wouldn’t actually spend any money on it. While I did love the book and found it to be a really quick read it didn’t have a lot to stand out and make it any different.
