I have belonged to a numerous organizations growing up and still do. Now what did/do they all have in common. Fundraising. Organizations, schools, clubs, churches and kids programs rely heavily on fundraising to succeed. Think of the brownie troops selling their cookies or the boy scouts selling popcorn. These are two groups that have had to sell from the beginning to help their organizations thrive. Working in the schools I am well aware of the financial strain that is being placed on their budgets currently and the ability for the students to help pay for those end of the year trips that seem to pile up.
I have always wondered how you went about finding an organization that would help with fundraising and that was reputable. As an adult my fundraisers usually consist of silent, live auctions, dinners and not door to door selling. I know I did a ton of door to door fundraising growing up for key club, 4-H, fair boards, El Pomar, etc, but was never in charge of actually finding the program. This is where Big Event Fundraising comes into play.
I like the idea for schools to have the party come to their door over the traveling sometimes. I know that the traveling makes for a full day and I can remember being on the bus at 6:00 in the morning with my 2nd graders so that we could go to the zoo. It doesn’t help that we live in a rural area and it was a three hour drive, but I myself would have preferred just letting them run wild on the playground with inflatables and water.
