Join Me For My First Blogathon + Big Changes

Biannual Blogathon Bash

Phew is it Friday yet? It’s been a crazy week around this house. My little one is sick and hasn’t been sleeping well, which we all know that means momma isn’t sleeping well either. Why am I looking forward to today then? That could be because I signed up to participate in my first every Blogathon. A what? I said a Blogathon which means that I will be taking care of all things blog related for the next 72 hours. I will be eating, sleeping and thinking blogging. My husband (and a sitter) will be in charge of the kids and I wish them luck!

This Blogathon couldn’t have come at a better time. I have been Giveaway Blogdom for two years now and I must say it is time for a change. I have loved my time getting to see new products and experiencing new things all while meeting some wonderful fans. However, the time in my life has come for a change and therefore Farmer’s Wife Rambles will be born. A new design will be hitting the blog in February (I hope the first of February!) along with a new plan. Farmer’s Wife Rambles will be dedicated to recipes, crafts and as rambles implies my rambling about living on the farm. Perhaps you will get to hear stories about how I got stuck bringing my son home from school, and by stuck I mean to the running boards of my Yukon and had to embarrassingly call my father in law to bring chains. That was a good conversation as I am sure you can imagine! Or I might spend sometime reminiscing about how I finally learned which field number went with which field after my two year old schooled me on them. 9 circles is a lot to keep track of after all, but when you kid who can’t count can number them off correctly it is time to know what I am talking about. So as rambling applies that is what I will be doing.

So as the Blogathon begins and I have hired a designer to get me started it will begin. I have things that really need cleaned up around my site before the designer can even start. I want my site to be easier to navigate and I want my recipes and crafts to be front and center. Cleaning this up with be my first goal. Surely that can’t take 72 hours, please somebody tell me it can’t.

I want to spend sometime during the Blogathon fine tuning Pinteresting which I started with Clair from MummyDeals. If you missed it I encourage you to check out Pinteresting and find some amazing new ideas to pin to your Pinterest boards.

My last big goal of the weekend is to get some new recipes set to go once the switch to Farmers Wife Rambles officially takes place. I have tons of them that have been sitting in drafts just waiting to make their debut. It is time that homemade donuts, churros, chocolate pudding, salsa and chips make their appearance. This is a big goal for me but one of the easiest that is hopefully going to take place, after all the pictures and ingredients are already listed it’s just a matter of getting the directions in order. Why has this taken me so long?

As I start the Blogathon I hope you will join me. Offer encouragement when I am ready to throw in the towel on hour 6. Let’s face it with a sitter watching the kids I can think of lots of other things I can be doing, like sitting enjoying the silence and lack of fighting. You know exactly what I am talking about! Most importantly I hope you will join me on my journey being a Farmer’s Wife Rambles. It is one I look forward to and the change I feel I have needed for sometime. If you want to get a jump start on knowing what goes on inside my crazy head you can be some of the first followers on facebook, my page looks lonely with only myself liking it. Happy 2013 and let the Blogathon begin!

Thank you for stopping by Nichole. You have been busy stopping by everyone’s blogs and we appreciate it. Headed over to check out your post now. I understand not getting everything finished. I accomplished a lot but didn’t make it entirely through everything I had hoped for either. Always set the goals high right? Headed to follow you now. Thank you for stopping by.

Great job and keep at it. I agree staying motivated is tricky especially if its been hours as you are looking at the screen. Don’t forget to get up and stretch, keep yourself active and it will give you energy to push on.

Thanks for stopping by. It’s been an intensive week but I accomplished a ton and was able to go out and play in the snow with my boys. I hope you have accomplished everything you set out to do.

Thanks for stopping by Edge of Insanity!

I agree that it came at a great time- especially when a lot of bloggers want to become better organized for 2013! I’m still sort of stuck on making my design more user-friendly, because I have NO idea what I’m doing and can’t afford to hire someone to do it. But I wish you the best of luck on all your goals!

Surely doing the design won’t take 72 hours!

I am joining that better organization blogger…or so I hope. In the past it has always been by the seat of my pants but I am implementing a schedule and getting all the paperwork together in one place. Thanks for stopping by!
