Supporting a Worthy Cause- Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

“The Walmart gift cards and information have been provided by P&G.” Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

I just had some important news that I wanted to share with you, and that is the importance of supporting your local community and the future of our children.  As you may or may not know, I am a happily married mom of two boys, with a third boy due in a couple of weeks. Thankfully, all of my children are healthy and although they do suffer from common childhood ailments such as colds, coughs, and the occasional fever, nothing to drastic.

However, some children are not so fortunate. Some have been born with or develop life-threatening diseases. Others have mishaps during their lifetime that are also potentially life-threatening.

Thankfully, we have companies that care about the quality of life for children from all over our nation and around the world. They do their part to help out by donating annually to charitable organizations that work towards improving the quality of life for

Walmart and Pampers Cares

In this particular case, I am talking about Walmart and Pampers. These two companies care about babies, children, and families. Between these two companies, they have donated $200,000.00 to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Now to inform you a little about the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Did you know that 1 in 10 children in North America are treated annually by this charitable organization? Did you know that member hospitals perform surgery on 97 children per hour? Did you know that every day 16,000 children are treated in member hospitals? I bet you didn’t. Now you do!

Furthermore, in 2012, U.S. member hospitals provided $3.4 billion dollars in charitable care. That definitely is a lot of time and money spent on improving the quality of life for these children.

To find out more about how you can contribute to this valuable organization, visit Walmart’s Children’s Miracle Network page and support the cause. Children are our future and could have easily been your son or daughter, niece or nephew, a neighbors child, or another child that you know. Your support provides services for 10 million kids each year which equals to 32 million patient visits!

An example of how the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals are hard at work in my state of Colorado, to help improve the quality of life for our children is apparent by the information provided below.

Colorado — Max

Children’s Hospital Colorado

Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis

Age 13 (as of 11/30/14)

Max knows the art of both playing a joke and delivering a punch line. He found a test audience in the caregivers at Children’s Hospital Colorado. It’s a good thing he has humor on his side, as he’s had to endure six months of chemotherapy for Langerhans cell histiocytosis — an inoperable tumor resting on his pituitary stalk. Max’s tumor remains with him, and scans every three months ensure it’s not growing.

All jokes aside, Max has a lot of empathy for others and is an active fundraiser for his Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Funds in Action

CMN Hospitals funds were used to help fund the tumor treatment team and the Siemens Avanto machine used to diagnose Max.

Don’t forget that children just like Max can really use your help. Check out how you can donate to this very worthy cause. I’m sure that the children would appreciate it and so do I.
