I am from Indianapolis, Indiana. I have 2 beautiful children and a loving husband, it’s just the 4 of us. I work part time in an office. I work part time so I have time for my Etsy, my family, and everything else I do for my family.
I started making earrings about 8 years ago or so when I found out that my daughter could not wear anything that was not nickel free. Any time metal is in contact with her skin, she’ll break out in a rash and itch. At the time she wanted to start wearing jewelry we couldn’t really find much she could wear; so I started making earrings with nickel free hooks. When I started making jewelry I knew I found my creative outlet! I loved it! I started showing people I worked with what I had made and started getting requests. Last year, a lady I worked with told me that Etsy was the hot, new thing and people were really buying handmade things others created and sold on Etsy. I thought I would give it a try.
My Etsy shop name right now is my user name. I didn’t really want it to be tmeddie04 and when I signed up with that as my user name I wasn’t aware that would become my shop name. My true shop name is Ang’s Divine Designs.
I think my chandelier earrings are my favorite. Every time I come up with something new and flashy, I love it!

When I showed it to her, she loved it and so did I and I knew I had to make one, slightly different, for my shop!
I guess I feel like my niche is in creating nice, attractive jewelry that is more affordable in today’s economy. I love seeing other creators’ jewelry with precious/semiprecious stones, but as I said, I enjoy creating beautiful pieces for less. I strive to find the best bargains on nice beads, etc. that I can use in order to keep my prices as low as I can and still make a little profit. I just enjoy the creativeness of it all!
I feel like my creativeness really lies in making jewelry. I have dabbled in a few other things, but most of my creativeness comes out when I get started making jewelry. When I sit down and get all of my supplies out around me, the ideas just flow. I am thankful to God for that.
I feel that people should buy more handmade because they can get items customized to meet their needs and even get unique items you can’t find in stores. I love making jewelry to match certain outfits, esp when you can’t find anything else to go with something you really want to wear.
I’m not much of one to really give advice on selling handmade as I am still new to this and hopeful for more success with it, but really keep at it, keep creating and promote!
