Where are you from and tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Jan Skacelik and I´m 27 y. o. Graphic designer and photographer from Czech Republic – based in Olomouc – a city you have probably never heard of before.
It is very nice historical city – but very small one, so God bless the Internet!

I was always interested in 50 / 60s design etc and year ago when I moved to my own flat I become really mid-century freak and it was the impulse for my print series.

Why did you start your Etsy shop?
I´m young and I need money!
Also I just wanted to try if anyone would be interested – and they are, which is fantastic.

How did you come up with your Etsy shop name?
As my artworks are in the retro style it was easy to find the right words.

What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
My favorite would be the first one I made – Cathrineholm From Norway with Love poster.
I listed it and first sale came very fast, this encouraged me to take it seriously.

Do any of your pieces have a memorable story behind them?

Not specifically, but I believe there will be some in future.

How did you decide what medium you wanted to work with?
As a graphic design as my main job it was easy choice for me.

If you had to choose one other medium in which to display your “creativity”, what would that be, and why?
Orchestral Music – I´m amateur composer and big classical / soundtrack fan. Music is a very important part of my life, it would be great to do it professionally.

Why should people buy handmade?
Because those items have a soul.

Apart from creating beautiful pieces, what else do you do?
I´m enjoying music, films, good food, browsing net for inspiration…

Do you have plans for expansion?
I have some plans but it is too early to speak about them

I forgot to tell that I love Pugs – I´m obssesed with those creatures – they are wonderful! 🙂
