Flip Flop Wines Review

One of my favorite things to do in the summer and fall in my town is to sit on my back deck, with a glass of wine and watch the sun set, listen to the kids play. It leaves me with such a peace. I still am a novice wine drinker and am slowly discovering what types and brands I prefer. I was offered to review Flip Flop wines and really who could turn that down.

Let me tell you about Flip Flop wines first of all. Flip Flop wine currently has 7 distinctively different wines of either white or red. Each bottle has this cute picture (to the right) on the label and on the top of the twist cap. Which is great for saving the rest for later while holding in the flavor. Flip Flop wine makers believe that  great tasting wines should break the bank (I for one agree).

I received 3 bottles of wine or review, which were shipped via Fed Ex, packed securely in Styrofoam and snugly in a box. Since these are alcohol the signing individual must show proof of legal age.

The first bottle I tried was the Pinot Noir which immediately attracted my attention by suggesting this wine goes well with mahi mahi, shrimp and chocolate chip cookies! The Pinot Noir is a dry to medium dry wine, filled with cola aromas and hints of vanilla, per the label (one of my favorite aspects of Flip Flop wines, the labels). Although I am often not a big fan of dry wines, which is why I tried this one first, I did enjoy this one, it didn’t leave an overpowering dryness aftertaste.
The second wine I tried was Pinot Grigio a medium sweet wine, with tropical citrus and ripe pear. The first glass was pretty good as was the second but I didn’t enjoy this wine as much, a little to acidy for me, none the less I did enjoy this bottle with my family during a BBQ.
The final wine I received was Riesling, a  medium sweet to a sweet wine, boiled with peach, apricot  and melon. Loved this one as I knew I would, the label tells me is is full of tropical notes and sweet aromas (how can that not sound appealing?). This was was smooth from start to finish, and waiting in my fridge for my next night off.
Flip Flop wines are not only great to drink, but support a great cause, Souls 4 Souls. Souls 4 Souls is an organization trying to provide shoes for children in developing nations. Shoes prevent illnesses and diseases and are required for school, so children who do not own a pair do not get to attend school. Souls 4 Souls are trying to change a life one pair at a time.

Unfortunately due to certain laws we can not do a giveaway, however this shouldn’t stop you from enjoying Flip Flop wines for yourself, see them all here.
