Frito Lay snack pack review

Frito-Lay starts with fresh, farm-grown ingredients, making many of our chips with just three simple ingredients: potatoes or corn, all-natural oils and salt.
· We were the first major food company to remove partially hydrogenated oils from our cooking oil way back in 2003. That means our chips have 0 grams trans fat because we use all-natural oils such as corn oil and sunflower oil.
· Many varieties of our chips provide whole grains like Tostitos® snacks, which contain 8 grams of whole grain corn per serving, and SunChips®, which brings 18 grams of whole grain per serving to your diet! SunChips is also a good source of fiber.
· Frito-Lay supports American farmers and buys the potatoes used to make our potato chips from 80+ farms across 27 states.
– Most of our chips contain less salt than you think!  A 1 ounce serving of Lay’s Classic potato chips ahs abot the same amount of sodium as a slice of white bread.
– We offer a Lightly Salted line of chips 0 available in Lay’s and ruffles potatoe chips and Fritos corn chips, which contain 50 percent less sodium than our regular line.
–  All Frito- Lay manufacturing plants are taking measure to divert at least 99 percent of waste from landfills.  one way we’re doing this is by reusing our shipping cartons up to six times before recycling them, helping reduce cardboard waste.

My Take

I have to say that Frito Lay snacks are some of my favorite chips.  I have always been in love with Sun Chips and their new flavor Garden Salsa takes the cake.  I am honestly addicted.  We sure are eating more chips in my house for lunch since I have found this flavor.

Recently , Frito Lay sent me a sample pack containing a reusable shopping bag, eco-friendly water bottle, a chip clip to keep my snacks fresh, a coupon for a free Frito Lay purchase, a bag of Tostitos scoops, Lay’s lightly salted and a bag of Original Sun Chips in their 100% compostable bag.

As potato growers I am thrilled to be working with Frito Lay.  They are huge supporters and of course buyers of potatoes.  The truly make the commitment to selling a quality product and have some of the highest standards on the market for the potatoes and corn they use.

Want to know where your chips came from?  Use Frito Lay’s chip tracker found here.  Just enter your zip code and the first three digits from the Product Code.

Perfect timing with Halloween coming and the parties.  I will be attending a few parties that these chips will come in handy for.  The lightly salted are a great version of lays.  I am trying to watch my sodium intake and chips are a hard one to stay away from.  The saltier the better in my life.  I thought I would be disappointed but I don’t even notice that Lays lightly salted have half the salt.

Frito Lay has tons of recipes on their site that you can check out here.  I am looking forward to trying the Black Bean Corn Bites and the Hot Cheese Bake.

And check out this Frito Pie Remix made with chocolate.  Sounds interesting.  I honestly am not a fan of Mole sauces but if it’s your thing I would highly reccommend checking out this video!
