Hop! The movie was just released in April! To tie in with this adorable movie is Hop game for Nintendo DS with all the characters from the movie. Here is some back ground from the movie that will help you understand the game. The Easter Bunny is getting old (he has been around for a while now you know) and wants to retire while having his son E.B. to take his place. However as a typical teen E.B.has no interest in a future as being the Easter Bunny all he wants to do is play his drums. So E.B. does what any team would in this situation… he runs away. This is where E.B. meets Fred, a human who, is struggling to be an responsibly, job holding adult. While absent Carlos, a chick strives to prove he can be the Easter Bunny.
While playing HOP the game the player plays as Fred (yes the jobless human) to tries to defeat Carlos, chases after E.B. and watches out for the Pink Berets (who are hired to return E.B.). Now you get to shoot things starting out with a candy blaster that shoots gumballs, (with unlimited ammo!) as you collect jelly beans. You shoot enemies and various obstacles and as you continue you gather three more wacky weapons (which do not have unlimited ammo) and find ammo packs on the way, which is not that difficult. You can chose different guns on the with the pen, marshmallow shooter, chocolate squirt gun and the cotton candy gun. However there is no button for shooting, you shoot by rubbing the stylus on the screen. 
There are 4 stages: the Mansion, Hoff Knows Talent, Easter Island, and The Candy Factory, with 10 levels each this results in hours of fun game time, in addition to mini games of bowling and drumming that are thrown in. Fred loss of life is indicated by a chocolate Fred that gets a bite taken out of him each time. My two older sons tested this game (after me of course). My 7 year old, Garrett loved it all of it! Especially the mini games. . There are also dialogue boxes that you can take as long as you need to read. as a beginning reader this was great. My 12 year old Zachary enjoyed it but not at much as Garrett. My older son said he liked this game, however he wished there was a button for shooting. Another point the kids pointed out was what do you do with the jelly beans? This I have not been able to answer yet, even as some parts are repetitive (for adults the kids didn’t seem to notice) its also addicting so I am sure I’ll find out soon.
