The Imagination Station Series Review and Giveaway – CLOSED

baskets and bunnies button

The Imagination Station is a series of new books aimed at young readers (7 and up) featuring a virtual reality device ironically called The Imagination Station. Although nobody knows how this device works it just does! With the push of a button it will transport the user back in time to experience history in person.

The first book in this series is called “Voyage with the Vikings“. The stars of this great adventure are cousins, Beth and Patrick, who while visiting a soda shoppe find an old letter in the mysterious Imagination Station requesting a viking sunstone. The letter tells them that an individual named “Albert” will be imprisoned if the sunstone is not found. So Beth and Patrick are off to Greenland circa 1000, dodging falling ice and flying spears. Beth and Patrick meet many individuals during their search for the sunstone including Leif Eriksson! But this is far from the only adventure these two cousins will have during this book, when they return to the shop they discover another note requesting another item! Visit The Imagination Station for their Focus on the Family,  you will also be able to learn more about vikings, find activities and coloring pages for more fun.

The second adventure in The Imagination Station books is called “Attack at the Arena”. During this book Beth and Patrick discover yet another interesting thing about The Imagination Station and Mr. Whittaker (from the soda shoppe). Mr Wittaker has a ring that can only be seen inside The Imagination Station! Another letter found lead Beth and Patrick to 5th century Rome searching for a cup to avoid jail for “Albert” (this mysterious individual seems the cause of a lot of trouble). While in Rome the cousins meet a true historical monk, Telemachus. Beth and Patrick must go under cover to complete this adventure, will they find the cup? Will they survive? While you are reading this great book don’t forget to head over to the website where you can find more facts on emperors, monks, barbarians and the famous Roman arena.
My Take
When I don’t work me and the boys (well the older three) get in my bed and read before bed.  We recently just finished reading The Lightening Thief and we now have started on this wonderful series, The Imagination Station.  We have almost finished the first book and so far my older boys are awaiting the faith of Beth and Patrick.  This series remind me of The Magic Tree House books, they have large wording and simply written so even my 7 year old enjoys reading aloud with us.  This book has taken us back in time so we learn about the vikings without even knowing it.  The Imagination Station books also enforce good choices and good morals! They offer exciting adventure, while learning history and teaching our children great morals.  The Imagination Station web site has some really cool activities and ideas I can’t wait to try.  So now I am off to finish sailing with the vikings and then on to Rome!
