I am originally from near Buffalo, NY but I have also lived in Toronto, Canada and Cairo, Egypt and now I am living in the midwest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I started my Etsy shop because I had started making jewelry which people liked and decided to make it a business. Not to mention that I was unhappy with my job working as an accountant and making jewelry was a great outlet for me.
My etsy shop name is pretty basic and describes what it is – a store that sells jewelry. I try to carry a wide variety of jewelry since we all have all kinds of jewelry in our jewelry boxes at home from casual to formal and made with all kinds of material.
The other medium that I have to display my creativity is in drawing and graphic design. I like to make cards to send people and have made banners for some stores on Etsy.
The aspect of creating the jewelry that I find most enjoyable is when I finally am happy with an arrangement of beads for a necklace.
I decided to work in jewelry because I love the beads, stones and crystals that you get to work with. There are so many pretty things to create with!
I don’t know any woman who doesn’t love jewelry and I started making jewelry as gifts for family and friends and it just expanded into a business.

People should buy handmade because you will get something that is not only beautiful but is well made and unique to you. You also have the chance to ask the seller to create something special just for you in the colors and materials that you want.
The advice I have on selling handmade is to try to find out if there is a demand for your item, find reliable suppliers of good quality items and find a suitable venue for selling your items.

I have to admit that I wear the same stuff every day, a ss necklace with a welsh love spoon embellishment and diamond studs…boring I know but anytime I wear something different or fancier my kids go crazy and want to have a turn with it!
