Where are you from and tell us a little about yourself?
I am from California and enjoy traveling and seeing all the different cultures, being outdoors and enjoying the fresh air. When I was growing up I always saw my grandmother transforming just a plain fabric into beautiful creations, I always admired her for this. I began to sew in my early years in college and was hooked ever since.
Why did you start your Etsy shop?
I originally just did sewing and crafting for my family and myself, I found it so rewarding to see them using my creations. When I was once doing a part time job I was sewing beads on a corset I made and a few people asked me if I would sell it, I said I’ve never sold any of my creations and thus someone told me I should look into etsy. After researching I thought why not try to sell.
How did you come up with your Etsy shop name?
My grandmother’s name was Isabel, she is my greatest inspiration and made me feel anything was possible. With her passion for creating I thought it only proper to use her name. I also added “Attic” as I wanted my shop’s name to reflect that I had a variety of items and treasures that you might find in an attic.
What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I love to bake and cook so I decided to make aprons, but wanted more than 1 look, thus “Reversible Apron” was born, I can make these for children and adults. I welcome custom orders just email me:

Do any of your pieces have a memorable story behind them?
My most memorable piece has to be the gingerbread cookie ornaments.

After volunteering at an orphanage in Argentina, I saw how truly fortunate we are to have what we have: a family, home, food and love. So For the past 2 years for the holidays, I have asked family and friends instead of buying me a gift to give me money so that I may buy gifts for a local orphanage, to let them know there are people that care. As a thank you to all that donated I made each person one of these gingerbread cookies, as a memory for them to remember that because of them a group of orphans would have a Christmas.
Any advice on selling things handmade?
I think the most important thing is have fun, enjoy your creations as it shows in your work. Make sure to go in forums often. Buyers would rather buy from someone they’ve chatted with as it builds a bond of confidence, than a complete stranger. Also enter BNR Treasury’s it will help you get more exposure and more sales.
Do you have plans for expansion?
At the moment, I’m just enjoying my time being on etsy, I have fun being in forums and chatting with other members. Hopefully sometime in the future I can spend more time in my crafting and expand.
