With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I was really excited to review the Lovely Baby and Mommy CD by Raimond Lap. The CD is a collection of ten unique songs, of an almost-lullaby quality about the special bond between a mommy and her baby. With titles such as She Is A Mom, Baby Communication, and My Closest Friend this CD is sure to be a hit.
That being said, I have to admit that, as a grown-up, I had a tough time getting through the CD my first time around. It’s cute and features decent vocals, but it’s also repetitive and little simple for my personal taste. Here’s the deal though – the CD isn’t really created for grown-ups to listen to, it’s made for babies to help encourage brain development and the parent-child bond. After giving the music a once-through, I decided to test it on the true product review team for this particular sponsor- my kids. They were almost immediately drawn into the comforting melodies of the Lovely Baby and Mommy CD. My son, who very rarely sits still for more than a few seconds at a time, laid his head down in my lap and listened to a full 10 minutes of music; and both daughters stuck around for the whole show. As an added bonus, I’ve started playing the CD at bedtime, and it has proven to be an excellent way to help calm all three kids down and get them ready for a good night’s sleep. All in all I have to say that it really is a pretty amazing CD – my kids, after all, pretty much decide what kind of music I listen to everyday anyways 🙂
