Where are you from and tell us a little about yourself?
I was raised in the Florida Keys, so I love being outdoors. I’m married & working full time as a cartographer by day, a photographer by hobby.
Why did you start your Etsy shop?
I wanted to share my love of photography with everyone, as well as share them with family. Then my friend Amy (WireDreamsDesign) told me about Etsy, so I started a shop here to see how it worked.
How did you come up with your Etsy shop name?
I originally registered my eyeshuttertothink.com domain name to be set up as a fashion do/don’t websiste (as fashion is my other passion) but once I took up photography, I decided to use the name for that instead.
What was your first piece you sold?
My first sale was in December 2008. It was a close-up photo of a Hyacinth Macaw Parrot. The customer purchased it to give to a friend, who was a big time bird fanatic. This is the shot: http://www.etsy.com/listing/18969492/hyacinth-macaw-parrot-fine-art
Where do you get your inspiration for your pieces? My husband & I take many vacations & weekend drive trips, often visiting parks, zoos, gardens, beaches, etc. Florida gives me alot of beautiful scenery & I enjoy bringing my camera along & taking pictures.
Any works in progress?
Our next vacation is to the Blue Ridge mountains, so I plan to get many shots from that. I’m also working on more collages & themed print sets.
Do you have plans for expansion?
The only way a photographer can really expand is to get their work seen by more & more people. I’ve had several shots selected for CNN’s website, as well as online & print publication. My hope is to continue that & perhaps get involved with an art show at a museum or nearby attraction.
Any other sites you can be found on?
My flash portfolio site is at:http://www.eyeshuttertothink.com
My weblog is at:

Anything else you would like us to know?
I love color & always try to bring that out in my photography. I’m not a fan of the washed out faded prints that seem to be selling today. Color & vibrance is where it’s at!
