Meet Jessica from Seraphina Rose

Meet Jessica
I live in Delaware, where I’ve been for the past 10 years. I’m 32 years old, married (6 years), have two kids (ages 3 1/2 and 9 months old). I am a certified addictions counselor (for the past 10 years) and I work part time in an outpatient treatment program.
Along with many other talented people, I’m waiting to be discovered as the next Martha Stewart! I have many crafty interests, my favorite is probably scrapbooking and sewing. I found out that I can make cute clothes for kids… started off with sewing dresses and other clothing, but that wasn’t as cost effective, so now I’m into heat pressed onesies, and LOVING IT! It gives me so many possibilities to be creative with my designs – hand drawn, computer graphics, edited images… lots of fun!
My shop name, Seraphina Rose, is my 3 1/2 year old daughter’s name. She is named for 3 of her great grandmothers (Seraphina, Rose, and Margaret). Unfortunately for my shop, two celebrities named their daughter the same about 1 1/2 yrs ago, and that kinda jams up my google search results! Ugh!
My favorite item right now is the Skladdagh – Part Skull, Part Claddagh. My husband is a little bit Irish and a little bit punk, so I enjoy this design! Too bad my feelings aren’t shared by the public – I haven’t sold any of this on Etsy and only one other item with this design on another site that I sell from! 🙁
The Pink Ribbon Series are important to me – I’ve done much fundraising for the American Cancer Society over the years (including many Relay For Life events) and many of my family members have survived or succumbed to cancer. Again, unfortunately, not too much response to the Pink Ribbon Series designs – I think I only sold one?!?
My first sale was a onesie with a cupcake that said “No Sugar Added – 100% me”. I should bring that one back, I guess! (I guess she did because here it is.  It is really cute) I just looked through my old sales, and that one was a hit for a bit! PS – I’m about to hit 100 sales!!
Oh, what else do I do? My other crafting is pretty much nothing right now – no time! I work about 15 hours per week as an Addictions Counselor and I LOVE IT! I spend most of my time with my two kids and my husband. We live near a beach, so we spend time there. When there is time, I love baking. And I make an Award Winning Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie – 2nd place!!
People should buy handmade because they are often getting a better quality product and supporting local and small businesses, which we need to stimulate in this country! The farmers, the crafters, the mom and pop shops… Often times the prices are comparable in an Etsy shop vs. a store, and if nothing else, it is allowing many moms like me to be at home with my kids more! Well, I would be at home with my kids anyway (rather than having them in daycare – but I can do it with less guilt about bills!)
Oh, I have tons of work in progress. I have a loooong list, that I just keep adding to faster than I can cross off! I think I’m going to open up another Etsy shop with onesies and tees that are a little more generic but are big sellers on Etsy!
You can find my stuff on RedBubble, Zazzle, Zibbit, and Ebay. You can find Seraphina Rose on Facebook, Twitter, EtsyBaby blog, and my own blog (which I’m really slow about posting to!)
**Please take a moment to visit Seraphina Rose’s shop.  If you comeback here and leave a comment with your favorite item you can have a total of five extra entries to leave on any or a combination of my current giveaways.  This offer ends on  7/9 at midnight.
