Ml-DEL Cookie – Review & Giveaway

Since 1947, MI-DEL has been satisfying the appetites of people like you who want snack products that are healthful, natural, and taste delicious. MI-DEL is a combination of old-fashioned recipes and new bakery methods that let us create better for you cookies that meet the latest health standards without giving up a yummy inch of taste.**

MI-DEL is something that I was interested in trying and was surprised to see that my local City Market actually carried a flavor.  Well or so I thought it carried a flavor, but on the upside I got to try three flavors that I wouldn’t have otherwise.  MI-DEL has mailed me three flavors of my choice which while I love Snickerdoodles, they were far different than what the store carried.

The Gluten Free Smores cookies that come in an adorable little travel size box were a hit instantly among our family.  Coulter was in love frankly because they were cookies, Cory liked them because they were chocolate and I have to say the cute carrying box shaped like a lunchbox was a draw for me.  One thing different about the packaging of the Smorea cookies is that they are packed into individual packages perfect for lunch.  I have stockpiled a couple of packages in the Yukon for snacking purposed on the road.  It will be a surprise for the boys because it is far different from the cheese crackers they are expecting.  Cory and I are both in consensus that not sure that they tasted like Smores exactly (but it’s been awhile for both of us) we did love that they were not overpowering in flavor.

The second flavor that I received was the all natural/organic Vanilla Snaps.  The flavor was great and something that I would think of as “camping” food.  Not sure why but we always took bag cookies with us camping and they were one of our treats while we were fishing.  It was generally the only time we actually had boughten cookies and as MI-DEL’s Vanilla Snaps come in a bag they would be a splendid trade off for the our normal brand.   Oh the walk down memory lane huh?  While it was a surprise to us that they were a hard cookie (it’s called a snap for a reason) which the kids were only so-so about.  It worked great for Corbin who is teething right now but Coulter just didn’t really go for them.  Cory didn’t actually get any as they were a snack in the car as I was headed to take my nieces and nephew back.  So the six five of us chomped or gummed away happily.

Lastly, I received the Gluten Free Chocolate Caramel and I can’t tell you how they tasted from personal experience.  My dad needed somethings for his lunch and he raided our snack bag in order to not have to go shopping (smart man).  He said they were good and from the man of no words this would be a compliment.

As you explore MI-DEL’s site you will see that all MI-DEL Gluten-Free products are routinely tested using the ELISA method to ensure gluten-free status as determined by the World Health Organization**.  Also, as you click on each cookie flavor you get to see “what’s in” and “what’s out”.  I thought it was rather cute and struck my eye.  It was quick to look at and made me choose my flavors based on something other than the flavor name.

With 23 flavors of natural/organic cookies this seemed like a lot and a wide variety of them.  I know gluten free is becoming more accessible but it’s still has a long way to come and I want to thank MI-DEL for bringing a sweet treat to those who have to search high and low to find it (at least in our area).
