The Healthy Home teaches us what to steer away from and what to embrace to live a longer, healthier life. Many of today’s products have chemicals that have been shown capable of causing cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions. Fragrances for example, a California school girl was able to determine which perfume was more toxic, which she found was Calvin Kline. The red marks on your skin from snug clothing….big red flag. All the devices plugged in by your bed, another no-no for quality sleep. Preservatives are designed to kill cells, think about what they are in (uh like everything). There are tons of “simply solutions” offered on nearly every page on ways to change you house for longer healthier lives for you and your family. As Myron Wentz states “we live too short and die too young”.
The Healthy Home is a strong pull for organic, which we all hear often “go green”, but in reading this book it explains why. Not just why, because its better for you but gives scientific answers. Myron Wentz explains what modern life does to our body at a cellular level. Which honestly is kinda scary, one point in the book it is said that the government looks at economic concerns first then public health hazards. Myron and Dave point out everyday things that are poisoning us from what we put inside our bodies, food and drinks; to what we put on our bodies, clothes and cleaners. The Healthy Home is an eye opener to our environment. Need another reason to check out this book? The father and son team will donate 100% of their proceeds from the sales of “My Healthy Home” to nonprofit organizations check it out here!

14 years agoOne way I've gone green in my own life is to not use paper towels. I've used rags as an alternative for years. I also recently switched to using a vinegar and water solution as a cleaner. I need to get past the smell, but otherwise I love it!
