Wow, have you guys heard of Space Race Kids the online web series which teaches kids about our solar system and other important life lessons along the way? If not, I have to tell you that you are missing out! My son is five years old, and, like most kids his age, he is completely fascinated with outer space and how the universe works. On the other hand, my husband is 29 years old, and, like most men his age, he is completely fascinated with outer space and the universe as well :-). Needless to say, the minute I pulled up the Space Race Kids online web series onto my computer screen, both my son and my husband were completely hooked! (I’ll admit it, I was hooked too.)
Each online video is filled with fascinating information about our world and the universe, and I was incredibly impressed with how quickly the videos loaded. We have a Broadband Internet connection; but even so, most online videos take about 15 minutes to download so we can watch them without interruption. Each episode of the Space Race Kids web series downloaded in literally seconds. And since most of them were under 5 minutes long, they manged to keep my son’s limited attention and leave him wanting more. Oh shoot, and I almost forgot the best part – the web series is FREE. (Yep, you heard me right, the series is Free, as in no charge at all.)
In addition to a series of great educational space videos Space Race Kids also has tons of other goodies kids and parents can choose from. My two year old loved their coloring sheets, my son got a kick out of the 3-D Space Racer online game, and my husband spent more time than I’d like to admit going over the Flash Cards (to make sure he could answer any of our son’s questions, or so he claimed!) In short, Space Race Kids is an amazing website, with something for everyone in your family!
