Week 2 with Studio V – Halfway Through!

Well, I’m done with my second week of my weight-loss journey with Studio V, and I’ve got to tell you, it’s been a rollercoaster ride!  This week I started off strong, but some health problems got in the way and have set me back a little bit.   I’m finally starting to feel better, but the doctor’s orders are no exercise until April 14, so I’ve really had to focus on my diet this week – I’m really broken up about the orders to rest, can you tell! (-:  I’ve included my Week 2 journal below and I’ll be back next week with another update!

Week 2 Day 1 – I lost two pounds last week and I know I can do better this week.  I started the day with an hour long hike with the kids, then I managed 30 minutes of the Body Sculpt Video from Studio V.  I’ve also been sticking to my diet, so today is a great day.  By the way, when I say I hike with the kids, I mean I hike with those kids.  Take a look at the picture of the rocks we were climbing today, and don’t forget that I have my 20 pound baby daughter and two water bottles on my back the whole time!

Day 2 – We got the kids some bicycles to ride yesterday and I am happy to say that I got a great work out chasing after them.  My two-year-old isn’t quite ready for the pedals, but she loves to sit on her bike while I push her up the street.  My son is five and just getting used to the whole bike experience, so I spent a lot of time encouraging him and chasing him around trying to keep him from running into trees and over the family pets (in hindsight, I think he might have been aiming for the pets).  I also created my own great recipe for dinner tonight because I just didn’t feel like anything on the Studio V meal plan.  Take a look at how yummy it looks 🙂  All I did was take a can of tuna fish in water, drain it, add 1/4 c fat-free mayo, cut up lots of yummy veggies like red bell peppers, celery, and carrots, toss in some fresh dill and relish, and voila!  I had a healthy dinner that was low in calories, high in protein, and went great with my fresh spinach salad.  I’m having a fantastic time this week!

Day 3 – Okay, today was rough.  I think I may have the stomach flu or maybe food poisoning (I won’t go into the details here, you can probably guess how I feel.)  No exercise or meal plans today, just lots and lots of sleep – if the kids will let me.

Day 4 – 6 – I’m lumping all of these days together because I got behind in posting and they are all kind of blending together anyway.  What I thought was food poisoning and sore muscles, my fellow blogger April (who’s also a friend and a nurse) thought might be appendicitis, so I made a trip to the doctor’s office.  The doctor agreed with April and had me admitted to the hospital.  Thankfully I did NOT have appendicitis, but I do have some ruptured ovarian cysts which are super painful and have knocked me on my tail-end for a few days.  Luckily for me, I had already done all my shopping for my meal plan this week, and Studio V has a huge selection of yummy, easy-to-make meal choices so I’ve been able to keep up on my diet.  Tomorrow is weigh-in day and I know I haven’t gained anything, but we’ll see if I actually managed to lose weight this week.

Day 7 – Oh Happy Day!  When I got on the bathroom scale this morning I was so shocked by what I saw that I had to step off and try again…. twice.  If you recall, last week I weighed in at 165 pounds, and this morning I was down to 163!!  I think it was a combination of the vomiting, exercise early in the week, and eating as well as possible.  I’m not supposed to exercise for a few more days, but I’ll keep up on my diet and let you know how next week goes!
