Is it that time of year already… I know it’s the first of the New Year which I am excited to see what that brings. However, that also means it’s time for my husband to go back to work. It’s been wonderful having him home with us since before Christmas. I think that is the best part of the holiday season is the break that they take from the farm.
It’s also been a very busy holiday season for us. This is the first year Coulter has really been able to understand what was going on and so we really had to get into it. We made reindeer food, set out the cookies and boy did I learn my lesson about wrapping every present individually. I thought for sure he would be thrilled to unwrap more presents, but I think I ended up unwrapping 100 presents between my own, Corbins and Coulters. Next year all those shirts are going into one box and not being wrapped individually!.
I also got to host Christmas this year. What an experience that was. I changed up the traditional menu a little and found some wonderful new recipes, many which will be on our table for years to come. This was a wonderful experience but also one that taught me a few things about putting on a meal for 10 people in formal dress.
With the season we also spent many days on the road. We visited friends and family from one side of the state to the next and spent out first night in 2.5 years away from our kids. It was WONDERFUL! Coulter loved it as well.
Here’s hoping that 2011 brings as much love, laughter and memories as 2010! Oh yea and the bathroom remodel scheduled for the 20th of January when my husband is out of town, what a great way to spend our anniversary. Good luck everybody in 2011!
