Well the results are in from our survey and we have spent over five hours combing over them and making decisions of where to go when we make the move. Not a lot is going to change until then, but the move shouldn’t be to far off:) We never expected to receive over 170 entries but were thrilled because it gave us some great feedback! We wish we could post the answers on our blog for everybody to see but we can’t figure out how to do that without posting every e-mail address and name of those who entered. We do value privacy at Giveaway Blogdom so no can do for results. One thing we do want to note is that if you have your e-mail in your profile when entering by comments than there is no need to publish it with your comment. We will be happy to visit your profile to get it, but we will not go hunting all over the country for it so make sure that it is available to the public!
The comment we heard most often was to move to Rafflecopter. Some may be asking what this even is and other’s may dread it, but for most this is what they want for the ease of entering (I know it takes some learning!). While we actually can’t go to that right now because it’s still in beta and only open to a few blogs who were invited to test it (we didn’t make the cut, although I tried). We have been on the “waiting list” (which I hear is over 1,500 blogs) to receive information about it and might be a possibility in the future. They do of course have a lot of kinks to work out.
The second thing that really jumped out to us is that we need more giveaways to be open to Canada & Worldwide. We agree with this and have been working on it, but we must all remember it is ultimately up to the sponsor. We are searching for companies though that will be more willing because we want all of our readers to be able to find the things they are looking for here. To help with our International readers though we will be implenting a You Know You Want It just for you one day a week where we will scour the net searching for giveaways that you can enter. We believe this will be posted on Wednesdays but still have some scheduling kinks to work out. So keep your eyes open for this as we make the transition.
What did we think would not be making a debut on WordPress? We didn’t think the recipes would be a keeper, but alas we were way wrong! Recipes were one of the top ranked keepers behind giveaways and reviews. We all have to admit this caught us by surprise, but have not fear they will be staying!
All of the answers received were very helpful and we have taken all of them into consideration. The above points are the top three things that jumped out to us. We would love to tell you more but are trying to leave a few things to the imagination and of course build up the suspense of what is going to happen when we make the move. So stay with us for the next couple of weeks and while things will remain the same while we are here we look forward to all of you joining us on our new adventure!
