Zero Water – Review and Giveaway

I am so excited to tell you all about my favorite new product!  Zero Water is an unbelievable water filtration system that uses a five-stage filter to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your water.  My family is lucky enough to live in an area with clean, untreated water that comes straight from the ground, but I still prefer filtered water. First of all, I get kidney stones a lot (which are incredibly painful and something I’d rather avoid, go figure).  The doctor has recommended that I filter my water to help reduce my kidney stones and it seems to help a little.  Plus, I think filtered water just tastes better.  Unfortunately, most conventional filters don’t work well on my sink faucet (they’ll stay on for maybe two weeks before breaking) and purchasing bottled water is expensive and bad for the environment.  So what’s a girl to do?  Well, you could continue to purchase bottled water or just drink straight from the faucet like I’ve done for the past 28 years, or you can get your very own Zero Water filtration system (which is what I recommend by the way!)

I received a 10-cup Zero Water filter to review, and I am officially in love.  My water tastes so clean that I’m actually drinking a lot more than I normally would (always a good thing), plus I know that it’s healthier for the kids and me to avoid drinking a bunch of dissolved solids.  While the average American household has water with 200-400 total dissolved solids, a Zero Water filter will reduce that number to…. you guessed it – zero!  It’s like drinking bottled water all day long, without the bottle, or the cost.  Of course, a Zero Water filter is not designed to remove biological contaminants such as bacteria and viruses, so you want to make sure your water is safe to drink before you filter it (in other words, don’t take it camping with you and use it to drink lake water), but, because the containers are portable, you can take it with you on hotel trips to make sure that you are always drinking the best water, no matter where you are.

There is so much I want to tell you about this filter, but I feel like I’m starting to sound like an infomercial so I’ll wrap this up.  Suffice it to say, I use my Zero Water filter all the time.  It takes a few minutes to filter the water, but as long as I remember to keep it filled the short wait doesn’t matter at all.  If a 10-cup container isn’t enough for your family (I fill mine twice a day), then they also have a 23 Cup dispenser for just a few dollars more.  They also have a much larger container capable of holding up to 4.5 gallons of zero water.  This is one product that every American household should own.
