Doodle Mark is a new book mark allowing kids and parents to interact with books together! While reading a book children can practice writing their words, practicing vocabulary and sight words or even just doodling. This a great tool to help kids learn powered only by their imagination. Doodle Mark clips to any book, high-resolution pad, with a cool object to erase depending on the design. It was created by a dad and founder of ReMarkable Reading Concepts, David Keefe. After countless nights of re-reading the same book with his then 7 year old daughter who would loose her bookmark each time and, at the same time, turning to magnetic drawing boards to practice letters and words while they read, he came up with the idea of combining the 2 mediums and the DoodleMark was born!
I received a Wild Racer Doodle Mark, immediately my kids loved it. Kaidin my 3 year old is obsessed with cars as I know most kids have a fetish about something but I think he is bordering on an illness here. So he of course followed the cardinal toddler rule and decided this was his because. I have negotiated for this by using it for his stories at night, which would be great if actually stayed where I put it. The Doodle Mark stays great don’t get me wrong, but Kaidin can’t resist the temptation to carry it around the house. (I have told him this is my toy so now he carries it around telling me he is holding mommy’s toy).
The single thing I love most about the Doodle Mark is the designs! They are fun and the characters at the top is what is slid to erase the screen so you can start over again. I have been working with my 3 year old on his letters (I think I have read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom 400 times now) and the Doodle Mark is perfect for this, I write it and then he does (kinda). The pen is perfect for little hands! I love this product, I do hope they come out with more fun designs. Also Doodle Mark is very reasonably priced at $8.00!
