How to make perfect homemade scones

I know I told you these scones are foolproof. And I said that because they are! I’m going to share with you the secret to perfect scones at home.

  1. Use cold butter. You want to make scones with refrigerated butter and work the dough quickly to not warm it with your hands.
  2. Mix until the dough barely holds up together. Think of it as a group of crumbs coming together.
  3. Chill everything before baking. If you are only going to follow one tip from the list, please be this one. Chilled scones rise like crazy! ANd scones that rise are also super flaky.

Can you freeze apple pie scones

Yes, the great thing about scones is that you can freeze them at any step of the process.

Freeze them when they are raw and have them ready to bake when the moment arises.

Or freeze them when they are baked and just pop them in the oven for 10 minutes to thaw.
