Do you like to dance? Do you have little girls that like to dance and sing? You will absolutely LOVE Princess Revolution. My girls like to put it on even when they are just doing other things around the house.
Soooooo What is Princess Revolution? It is the newest CD released by Moey’s Music Party. It has this concept of Girl Power. Seriously…think about the movies and fairytales that our little girls hear day in and day out. Generally, the lady is the ‘damsel in distress’ that needs someone to come and rescue her.
Do we want our little girls to NEED someone to help them with every thing they do? No, we are raising a generation of independent girls. (Except when they want to be so independent that they talk back to mom or dad…then we want them to just listen and obey, but that is beside the point.)
There are 15 songs on this CD featuring subjects like body-image, sharing and standing up to bullies. They also help encourage the celebration of each child’s intelligence, confidence and style.
Having just visited Disneyland, I realized how much these fairytales meant to my girls. And this CD includes the musical retelling of Sleeping Beauty, The Princess and the Pea and The Little Mermaid. OH, but don’t think she is just retelling them…oh no…she is putting a girl power twist to them. Don’t worry..it is still fun!
