Many thanks to Depened for sponsoring today’s story and encouraging people to #dropyourpants for #underwareness.
When I first started having children, I wasn’t aware that my body would change so much overtime. After my first child, my body didn’t change too much. However, the second child came and I could really start to feel the differences within my body and now that I a pregnant with our third it’s been a roller coaster ride! When I say “differences” I’m saying that I don’t always have the most control over my bladder. Whenever I laugh, cough or sneeze, chances are a little something might come out. And we all know what that “something” is. This isn’t something that most women like to talk about, but it’s a fact of life.
I talked to a friend and was surprised to hear that I wasn’t the only one and she shared with me her solution. Before I tell you her solution for bladder leakage protection here are some facts on bladder leakage.
The Truth About Bladder Leakage
I was a little embarrassed about my bladder leakage, but I also understood that I couldn’t be the only mom who had this problem. Here are some statistics I’ve found on bladder leakage.
• More people with bladder leakage are in their 20’s than their 80’s
• The average age of someone with bladder leakage is only 52!
• More people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger than 60 or older!
Thanks to Depend, we don’t have to hide behind the issue of bladder leakage. Over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage. To help support them and bring awareness to the condition, Depend Underwear is coming out of hiding, Depend has created a new social movement (Drop Your Pants For Underawareness Movement) and charitable cause called Underwareness. Throughmy story and your story, you will be highlighting Underwareness, supporting the millions of Americans with bladder leakage and helping to break down the stigma of the condition and Depend Underwear.
Depend will donate $1, up to $3 million, over the next three years to charities that advance the research, education and awareness of bladder leakage for: Every pant drop, photo and video shared, using the hashtags #Underwareness and #DropYourPants; and every personal video made about what Underwareness means to you that is uploaded to YouTube.
There you have it! I’m telling the world my Depend story and how I use them. Mommyhood isn’t going to get me down. I’m just one of 65 million people, so there’s no shame in the game of Depend. Let’s break the barrier and support each other, one leaky bladder at a time.

10 years agoI’ve already dropped my pants for the cause and I think it’s great this discussion is becoming mainstream! I’ve had LBL before, and have no kids- it’s a medical thing people shouldn’t be ashamed of.

10 years agoI have heard this from my sisters in law. I didn’t have kids but my brain disorder is in the area that controls the bladder so I know what you mean.
