When you think of a dessert, rarely do we think of the grill. I mean, it’s not common for a dessert or snack recipe to be made on the grill. However, these grilled peaches are heaven and probably one of my favorite desserts ever. They’re so easy and honestly, much healthier than most of the desserts I make, on average.

These peaches are easily made into a whole food recipe as long as you’re careful about the ingredients you choose. The only ingredient that might be an issue is butter but, it’s easy to ensure that this ingredient is whole food friendly. I love using this grilled peaches recipe as a healthier way to kill my sweet tooth.

How Do You Make Grilled Peaches with Cinnamon Honey Butter?

Preheat your grill. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pit. You’ll want to spray the flesh side of the peaches with PAM or another non-stick cooking spray.

Place the peaches flesh side down on the grill for 5-7 minutes. I rotated my peaches a quarter of a turn, halfway through to get cross-hatched grill marks.

While the peaches are grilling, combine room temperature butter, honey, and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.

Immediately upon taking peach halves off of the grill, fill with 1 Tablespoon cinnamon honey butter mixture.

Tips for Making Grilled Peaches with Cinnamon Honey Butter

  • You can top your grilled peaches with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or vanilla yogurt if desired. The boys preferred theirs with just the cinnamon honey butter. If you’re going the whole food route, stick with the simple butter mixture.
  • You don’t have to turn the peaches by any means if you don’t want to. However, the turn makes the pretty grill marks which are fun for serving to guests.
  • Try not to pick the peaches up and place them back down multiple times while they’re cooking. This will cause them to look early and will cause the temperature to fluctuate, resulting in an uneven cooking result or longer cooking times.

Commonly Asked Questions About Grilled Peaches with Honey Butter

Do Peaches Need to Be Ripe to Grill?

As with any fruit, it tastes much better if your peaches are ripe before grilling them. However, the great part about grilling peaches is that the process ripens them slightly in that, the grill pulls out the sweetness of the peaches. Therefore, if you’re peach isn’t perfectly ripened before grilling, don’t fret too much. If your peach is too ripe, you may want to use a spatula when removing it from the grill as it may be more fragile than the average peach.

How Do You Cut a Peach in Half on the Grill?

I suggest cutting your peaches in half before you place them on the grill. You won’t want to try and grill your peaches whole then cut them during the grilling process. This could turn into a mess and needless work and cleanup. Doing as much of the prep work beforehand for most recipes is the smart way to go. Work smart, not hard, that’s what I always say! Besides, that peach pit will need to be removed and that’s also easier to do before the peaches get softer on the grill.
