Old Fashioned Pumpkin Cookies

Old fashioned pumpkin cookies?  Who could go wrong these delicious and moist morsels?  Whenever I make these they don’t even make it to the icing stage honestly, but I included a recipe for it down below just in case you want that extra kick of delicious flavor.  I love anything baked with pumpkin.  Cookies are the top favorite in my house and I can convince myself that the kids are eating their vegetables.  Right?  The picture is before they were baked.  They were gone before I even got one let alone a picture taken.  There is always next time…

Old Fashioned Pumpkin Cookie Ingredients
2 1/2 cups flour (I used my own pumpkin which has more liquid, so I needed 2 3/4 cups)
1 Teaspoon baking soda
1 Teaspoon baking powder
1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 Teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 Teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cups granulated sugar
1/2 Cup butter (1 stick)
1 Cup pumpkin (bought or homemade)
1 Large egg
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract.
Glaze (recipe at bottom)

Old Fashioned Pumpkin Cookie Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease baking sheets.

Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger and salt in medium bowl.  Beat sugar and butter in large mixing bowl until well blended.  Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla until smooth.  Gradually beat in flour mixutre.  Drop by rounded tablespoons into prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 12-15 minutes (baking times differ according to oven).

Cool on wire rack (or plates in my house) and drizzle with glaze.

Glaze
Combine 2 cups powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth.
